This week, we want to focus on a brand new freebie from the folks at Fracture Sounds. It’s a solo string trio called “Blueprint: String Trio”, and is meant as a teaser for an upcoming library (likely available within days of this posting). It is part of their ongoing free Blueprint series, which you can also find at their website.
String Trio is a 2.1GB library that is really quite generous. The sound consists of a solo violin, viola, and cello mixed together as an ensemble patch. You get three articulations; Sustain, Staccato, and Pizzicato, along with three microphone mixes.
There are also controls that allow you to control microphone distance, the overall color of the sound, and more. Overall, a pretty good package for the cost of nothing.
The sound is nicely done, in my opinion. It’s fairly gentle with a little more of an intimate sound, and would work very well for a backing pad. So it’s worth checking out, even if you (like me) already have way too many string libraries!
